Pearl Care

Pearls are organic gems, so they are susceptible to certain chemical and environmental factors. In order to protect pearl’s natural luster, a very special care is needed during every wear and after wear.

AVOID CONTACT WITH CHEMICALS

To preserve freshwater pearls’ luster, avoid pearls coming in contact with cosmetics, hair products, perfume, body lotion, and other harsh chemicals. Therefore, wear your pearl jewelry as a final touch after applying make-up, perfume, and lotions, etc. To preserve the surface of your freshwater pearls, do not wear them in chlorinated or saltwater pools as these chemicals can cause damage. Avoid wearing your pearls when you are doing activities that could damage them, such as gardening or playing sports.

AVOID EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS

For the longevity of your pearl jewelry, avoid exposure to acidic, extreme heat, and dry conditions.

CLEAN AFTER USE

It is recommended to give a quick wipe after each use with a soft polishing cloth to remove any dirt and store it in a jewelry box. You can buy our pearl polishing clothes for added care and protection.

For to clean dirtier pearls, first, try cleaning with a damp cloth. If that is not satisfactory, then use mild soap in lukewarm water and use a microfiber cloth to dry it thoroughly before storing. Do not wash silk thread because it can loosen the knots.

STORE AFTER USE

Freshwater pearls are delicate and easily get scratched if stored with other sharp jewelry. So, place them separately in a provided box or pouch.
